Job applications

So I don't think that I got the Vancouver job. I didn't get a call or email for an interview. My application still says it is being reviewed, but they said I would have known by Friday the 20th. I applied on the 19th for three other jobs here in Spokane. One at Holy Family which is a part time 1:00-9:30pm ER position. I also applied at Sacred Heart for a days full time Cardiac floor position and a days full time Float nurse position. I hope I get something. Especially the full time ones. Particularly the cardiac. It could help me waylay into ER someday I think. And I really need a full time job so I can move out of my parent's basement. I AM DONE LIVING HERE. Wish me luck.

Oink Oink H1N1

So yesterday I volunteered at the Health Department's flu clinic for H1N1 at the North YMCA yesterday. The YMCA is a beautiful new facility by the way. Anyways I was glad I went though I was tired in the morning. Paige, Camey, and Bekah and I all had fun. It wasn't a shot clinic. We were doing the live virus nasal spray. I also got my flu vaccine today since they had some left over and it was free. Probably better than a shot, especially since my nose didn't hurt later like my arm would have. Maybe I will get time to volunteer at the flu shot clinic at school and do some more shots this year. I don't know though since I have a paper due at the same time.

Applying myself

Well I have officially turned in my application for license, NCLEX exam registration and just now sent in an application to Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA for their ER Internship Program.

The application took me a couple hours. I finished writing my cover letter before opening the online application. I hate filling out applications. They want information I do not remember. I do not know my supervisor's name from Sears over 8 years ago who I worked for only for a couple months. And I do not remember how much they paid me. Anyways, I will know by November 20th if they want to do an interview. At least I will know reallly soon and not have to wait. Then I can concentrate on school and probably filling out other applications. The internship is very competative, but I filled out an appication anyways. So soon I will know.....

Red.....Red. and more Red

So Friday I took twenty from my checking to eat lunch at Holy Family. My receipt from the ATM said my account was in the RED $0.75.

On Saturday I decided I was going to donate some RED plasma for money. So my mom took me to breakfast before I went so I would be prepared and she was driving me since I didn't know how it would effect me since I have never given blood before. We went to the plasma center. Kara told me they were going to give me $40 for it and the Inlander had an article earlier that also said so. Anyways, we went in and met the lady at the front desk. She then informed me that besides my photo ID I had to have my social security card or a pay stub with my number on it. I of course had not brought either with me, so we ran home in a hurry to get my card. The plasma center would close in a few hours. I then went in again while my mom went across the street to Winco. This time I found out they also wanted a piece of mail with a recent postmark on it which of course I did not have and they didn't say I had to have the last time I was just there. I also come to find out that instead of $40 I would be getting only $25 due to the recession. So I did not end up donating anything. If anything I turned RED from all the frustration.

Later that night Kara, my parents, and I went to a Spokane Chiefs game against Vancouver. It was RED night as well as $1 night. The Chiefs won 2-1. We sat down pretty close to the ice at one of the goal ends. We all had $1 hotdogs and pops and also got some popcorn, licorice, and a pretzel.

Puddle Of Mudd

Got to go to a Puddle of Mudd concert last night. Wasn't planned, but my friend Brandon M. was able to get me and Josh in for free. I know I am not a concert goer typically, but I knew some of the bands songs so I wanted to go. It is a rarity that I know who the bands are that are playing at The Knitting Factory. I also haven't really been out much with school. The two opening bands were Like a Storm and Burnt Halo. I liked the Like a Storm band. I had them sign a poster for Josh and I after their show. They all had very sexy accents from New Zealand.

We started out down in the bar area, but Kelly moved us up to the corporate spot overlooking the stage upstairs. It was pretty cool. Josh's girlfriend Mary met us there later. I did however leave before the show totally ended at like 11:30. I was tired and Mary and Josh had left. I also saw Brandon S. brother Keven and his brother in law Brandon there too.

Graduation Speech

Well it's offical. I am on the schedule to give a speech during graduation. I have a few ideas for my speech so hopefully it will go well.
